Details:
Widespread power outages from the destructive derecho storm event in Iowa on Monday, August 10, 2020 later provided one small "silver lining" that night: dark skies. With no light pollution in Cedar Rapids I was able to see and capture the Milky Way in my backyard. This 11:24 pm CDT image also includes a meteor streak from the Perseids Meteor Shower and the Andromeda Galaxy. Nikon D7200 DSLR. 15 second exposure at f/2.8, ISO 4000, 13mm focal length.
