Details:
Not perihelion (we'll have to wait until May 4, 2020), rather this is a composite image of around three hours of 60sec exposures of comet C/2017 T2 taken at its nearest point to earth. Actually the distance from us, on May 4th, is actually similar at 1.69 A.U to distance to the sun at 1.62 A.U. at perihelion.. We all know that comets behave badly when it comes to predictability of brightness's, tail development and morphological changes. I was hoping to capture further nuclear changes from my earlier attempt back in November. See post #4 for earlier image: https://www.cloudyni...arrs/?p=9824742 So what is noticeable? Certainly the image appears brighter and the tail morphology is certainly different. I however can't feel a little disappointed since I can't tease out the gradients in the comet's tail as I did a month ago, despite its closer proximity. Oh well I'll keep at it as the the weather, moon and travel permits. Dan
