Details:
While we did not see any auroras on July 31, we did get a fine but short-lived display of NLCs, rather late in the season for here, certainly the latest I have seen them from southern Alberta from latitude 51° N. This was about 10:45 pm but even by 11:00 pm they had faded. To the north was also a line of thunderstorms firing off with embedded lightning. I noticed a prominent display of NLCs visible on the aurora webcam at the same time from Churchill, Manitoba at latitude 58° N.
