Details:
June 10th brought my first NLC observations of the year. In the morning I had a faint (brightness 2) display, and in the evening a stronger one (brightness 3,5). Both included some fine structural elements: the first one was dominated by large whirls, while the second had almost all known NLC forms. Both displays had one remarkable feature in common: they stretched very high on the sky up to about 60 degrees. This is an extreme rarity on my latitude, and I take it as a sign of a very special season.
On the 1st pic you can see the brightest part of the evening display (300 mm close-up), the 2nd shows the beginning, when it reached up to the Big Dipper. The 3rd and 4th pics were taken in the morning, on the same day.
