Details:
As I was just finishing setting up all my cameras and getting ready for the Perseid Meteor Shower I notice, being at twilight, low at the horizon, was an elusive, shy structure of the Noctilucent Clouds forming. Right away I turned two of my cameras in that direction for stills and real time video and I was waiting to see a progress in the development of the NLC’s structure. Unfortunately the structure of the NLCs did not developed as I hoped, was just a small improvement overall getting elongated a bit and eventually faded away, but to my surprise not being totally dark around 11:06pm and 11:32 pm I caught two humongous, beautiful Perseids meteors crossing the sky just above the Big Dipper. Quite unusual to see the NLC’s so late in the season here in Alberta but what a start for the Perseid Meteor Shower!!!!. Photos were imported and edited in LR. (D800, Nikkor 14-24mm 2.8, ISO 2500; 1.6 seconds exposure; f 2.8, 14mm - Kakwa-Wapiti, Alberta, Canada – Aug 12th, 2018)
