Details:
It was a very clear morning from southern Alberta on Monday, Nov 13, allowing a good view and photos of the close conjunction of Venus and Jupiter as they rose into the southeast sky below Mars and the waning Moon. Two closeups with a 200mm lens show the planets paired as beacons just 20 arc minutes apart, while the wide scene depicts the context, with Venus and Jupiter low just above the trees, and Mars and the Moon above defining the line of the ecliptic in the dawn sky.
