Details:
My first total solar eclipse and was thankful to get some good shots from Madras, Oregon. Orion Skyview Pro 100mm (3.9 inch) refractor with 0.85 focal reducer (making it a 765 mm focal length and f/7.65) and Nikon D810 camera. Was bracketing shots at ISO 100 from 1/125th of a second to 2 seconds when I noticed the proms were over exposed. Reduced my ISO to 31 (Lo 1.0) and even lowered the exposure two more stops in post processing to get a good exposure. Thank goodness for shooting in RAW! Next eclipse I'll make sure to go down to 1/500th. Wide shot is 50 percent crop. Inset shows full resolution.
