Details:
What an amazing Celestial sight. It was one of the brightest display of Noctilucent Clouds since July 4th 2004 that luckily for me fell on a Saturday night. The display started 90 minutes after local sunset and became increasingly obvious as it grew darker and evolved into a stunning display. The complex changing shape was visible to the naked eye, herringbone, complex knots, bands, small and large whirls, the colours from a very bright orange hue at the horizon to electric blue tendrils at the top spanning the whole northern horizon until 4am. I set myself up on the shores of Lough Corrib (the Republic of Ireland's largest lake) in County Galway and stood there with my camera in complete awe at this fantastic sight.
