Summer solstice NLC display was fantastic! After the show we had the day before I didn't believe we would get another bright display - right when the crescent Moon meets Venus at the dawn of summer solstice. Still the magic happened.
At the evening of 20th June the smoke of the Portugese wildfires reached our sky and dimmed the stars a lot. In the early dawn hours the lower 6-7 degrees at the horizon was very dark with the patch of the smoke - it was already leaving our region. Still while the NLC began to appear it was very dim too, and got a pinkish hue - just like Moon and Venus. The conjuncting bodies remained red even at an altitude above 10 degrees. The show was absolute winner with the NLC streching towards SE - the last whisps were visible near Uranus...
