Details:
The nightside of Venus imaged at 1 micron wavelength reveals the faint glow of the surface and some features. At this wavelength the atmosphere is transparent and the radiation can escape. The high altitude regions are colder, then fainter, while the low altitude terrains are hotter then brighter. This image is the result of 8 years of work. The goal? Mapping the whole surface!

After seeing your images, I felt prompted to search the web for Venus nightside glare. As far as I could understand, the question of its existence is not definitely solved, but your work seems to prove the countrary. Now my question. I have seen several photos of shadows casted here at Earth by Venus, so I may guess than an observer at Venus, with proper equipment, would see a Venus-dependent glare on the nightside of Earth. May the earthshine be the cause of the Venus glare? Any reference about?

This is the nightside of Venus seen in the infrared, that is the thermal emission of Venus, which is well known and used also by professional astronomers and spacecrafts to map the surface of the planet. It is not earthshine or any kind of reflected light. It is the thermal emission of the soil of Venus which has a temperature of 460°C and emits black body radiation peaked at 3.9 micron, with a long tail reaching also the 1 micron transparency window in the atmosphere.
