Details:
Well last here in the LA area it was mostly cloudy, but in the city of Lomita where I live in the LA area, the clouds opened up a bit just in time to allow me to capture an image of the occultation just as about Aldebaran was entering occultation (at about 4 o'clock in the image). The occultation entry time for the LA area was 7:02 PM PST and I shot this at 6:57PM PST. I used my Orion 80mm f/5 refractor with a 25 mm eyepiece and placed the camera of my Samsung S5 up to the eyepiece for this afocal shot. Glad I got to capture a moment of the occultation.
