Details:
Many of my morning astronomy students used their smartphones, the Coronado 60, and the iOptron 12mm Plossl and smartphone adapters.
First shot by Micelle Siu shows the full disk, with flare with AR 2581.
Next shot by Brendon Ballard enhances contrast to bring out disk detail.
Third shot by Carolyn Gray shows a "filaprom" on the eastern limb, rotating onto the disk this morning. Like a great earthworm, it must stretch over 100,000 miles long, and stand about 10,000 miles high.
Last shot by Michelle Siu shows the same feature, with a different smartphone. I find once the phone is sharply focused on the disk, try offsetting the disk by degrees to get the best detail for shots like this one.
