Details:
A huge prominence is hovering above the Sun's surface today. Prominences are giant clouds of plasma (hot, energized gas) that lift off the surface and are temporarily held in place by the Sun's strong magnetic fields. A prominence will either eventually fall back to the surface or explode out into space.....
