Details:
When ACE data showed a significant drop of Bz about an hour before midnight, which by the way was perfectly timed, I hurried down to the fjord with my cameras. When I arrived about 30 minutes later, first I only saw the bright noctilucent clouds over the northern horizon, but the auroral show had already begun. It was barely visible to the naked eye due to the very bright noctilucent clouds and the city lights but the cameras revealed its full beauty and extent. It was the first time I witnessed both phenomena at the same time. The aurora continued for about an hour before the skies became too bright again. But then the noctilucent clouds rose up high in the morning sky. Watch a timelapse of the aurora and morning twilight here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwhzUb4zzLI
