Are these were noctilucent clouds? Late last night in a dark part of East Sussex, on the South Coast of England we thought this look VERY Aurora-like! Over the course of about 45 minutes it made it's way across the sky! Detail: Canon 5d Mk2, Samyang 14mm 1.4, ISO2000 f1.4 5s

Its clearly NOT NLCs, which are -electric blue- with typical -wave shape-...
Maybe Cirrus clouds during sunset/sunrise (no exif data) or a jet trail.

Anyway, nice picture (I did not know that there were Indians villages in England...
;-))

No. Noctilucent clouds are low on the horizon in the direction of where the sun either sets or rises and do not move in the manner you describe.
