Details:
Yesterday there was an incredible Hedgerow prominence spouting away along the eastern limb of the Sun and today that sheet of plasma is shooting out into space…its just spectacular! There is also another prominence not far away on the eastern limb that has now come into view and it looks like it’s very active too…. My images were taken with a Canon 700D camera with a 2x and 3x barlow lens attached to a Lunt 80mm solar telescope. The colour image is a composite of two sets of images one for the solar disc and one for the faint prominences that were stacked in Registack6 and combined in PS CS4. The monochrome image is not a composite; it shows a little bit more of the faint detail in the gaseous plasma of the prominence :-)
