Details:
Tonights waxing gibbous moon was hiding behind a lonely cloud, creating an eerie sight. Soon, rapidly moving auroras entered the stage and flowed like ribbons over the Moon and Orion. Not a "stong forecast" for tonight, but a "strong" southward Bz caused a K5 on the local Tromsø magnetometer. And, true enough, when I looked the other way around the entire sky was green and I had only looked in the direction of the moon which was due south! To learn more about why aurora may appear then, check out our newly released DVD where we explain the physics behind auroras in an easy to understand language: http://www.solarmax.no/Aurora/DVD.html
