The detail captured in the Ion tail is extraordinary. C/2014 Q2 (Lovejoy) est mag 4; Length of Ion tail 2.4° in image; recorded 9 filaments & 1 disconneted . Sky-90@f/4.5 refractor and a Canon 20D DSLR; ISO 400; Losmandy GM-8 mount; Very transparent skies. Captured 86 30-sec RAW frames for 43 minutes effective exposure on Jan. 20 2015, 03:26 to 04.11UT.
