Comet Lovejoy imaged with narrowband C2 (green) and CN (UV) filters. Canon 300mm f/4 with Atik 383L+ Many people say CN is green, but this is to emphasize the green is mostly from C2 and not at all from CN, which is mostly in the UV. The CN signal largely matches C2 but is broader and more coma shaped - and has more signal in the tail, proportionally. The overall signal from CN is much weaker than C2.
