Early last month was very exciting because I spotted the infamous “Polar Vortex” on the TV news and wondered about the two-week “Tele-connections” delay with Antarctic Noctilucent Clouds discussed by NASA in the Spring. I figure the Cold Air got to Indianapolis, USA about Tuesday 11 November 2014. NASA’s statistical analysis suggests that there should be an NLC outbreak about 25 November. Imagine my joy at seeing SpaceWeather.com post the arrival of Southern NLC on their 29 November 2014 page. Further analysis of the AIM website suggests it started about 22 November. Close enough for me! Coincidence or what?
